Serious question (and a likely scenario in this case), what happens if a car you’re renting on Turo breaks down?

Rented on Turo for the first time when I was in Montreal a couple weeks ago and was very happy... It’s was a shitty Corolla, but it was manuél! So I was happy :)

That seems like a good way to try out cars before buying them too.

absolutely. I just wish more of my dream cars were on there. I don't want to buy but drive for a day and love old porsches, nsx etc. with that said I definitely get why people would be hesitant to rent a nice car out and would fear every 16 year old is gonna try to learn manual on my car

Grumble grumble Turo...had absolutely ZERO luck trying to rent from them this week. And was charged for a rental that never appeared. I hope you have better luck.

What companies here like fun2drive do, is a quick test drive with the renter before renting them the car... For older cars like this, it could be nice to do so.

As far as I’m concerned, I don’t mind having people drive my cars so that’s OK :)

All cars on Turo are insured under a special insurance they work with that covers this kind of stuff. You’ll be stranded on the side of the road but you won’t pay for it lol

Eesh. Do you have any recourse there with the company?

I emailed to report the issue. If they’re smart they’ll just refund it because no one wants to deal with our office manager when she’s mad.
